Position Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to join our restaurant team as Hosts and Expos. In this dual role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for warmly welcoming them and ensuring a smooth seating process as a Host. Additionally, as an Expo, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and presentation of dishes before they reach the guest’s table. Your friendly demeanor and attention to detail will contribute to exceptional dining experiences.

Job Types: Part-time, 20 – 35 hours per week

Locations: Picture Butte, Alberta

Host Responsibilities:

  • Guest Welcome: Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, making them feel valued and welcome.
  • Reservation Management: Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements efficiently.
  • Seating Assistance: Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Offer information about the restaurant, daily specials, and any promotions.
  • Guest Experience: Ensure guests’ needs and preferences are met, accommodating special requests when possible.
  • Communication: Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to manage table turnover and provide a seamless dining experience.
  • Maintain Lobby: Keep the lobby area tidy, organized, and appealing.
  • Problem Resolution: Handle guest concerns and complaints professionally and promptly.

Expo Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control: Ensure that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet presentation and quality standards.
  • Order Accuracy: Double-check all orders to match the guests’ requests and communicate any discrepancies to the kitchen.
  • Plate Presentation: Ensure that each dish is plated beautifully and garnished appropriately.
  • Ticket Management: Manage incoming food orders and communicate with the kitchen staff on order priorities.
  • Timely Service: Coordinate the timing of food orders to ensure they are served promptly and at the right temperature.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen and waitstaff to maintain efficient and accurate service.
  • Sanitation: Adhere to food safety and cleanliness standards in the expo area.

Requirements:

Host:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Friendly and accommodating attitude.
  • Ability to manage reservations and seating effectively.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Expo:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or expo role is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented kitchen environment.
  • Food safety knowledge and certification is a plus.

Salary: $15.00-$17.00 per hour

Schedule: day, evening, weekends
